The Berrycloth Family

Steven & Iris Berrycloth

Steven and Iris are both in their early 30’s. They married young and have a very loving relationship.

They both make a reasonable family living by providing emergency foster care for disadvantaged children.

They are a close, loving family and are great at what they do.

After falling in love with one of the boys they were fostering, Dominic, all three of them decided that they wanted to keep the natural, loving bond they had all formed very quickly. They adopted the boy and he is now part of the Berrycloth family.

Although they make a living as foster parents, Steven works an additional job, too. He works for a global building contractor. He spends a lot of time travelling the world, meeting with clients, engineers, architects, and solicitors to arrange the construction of large building projects. Some of these projects include large housing estates, shopping centres, high-rise buildings, and even skyscrapers. Being one of the best in his industry, although he is still relatively young, he pulls a a great salary along with many other company benefits.

Dominic Theodore Berrycloth

Dominic Theodore Berrycloth is an incredibly kind, caring, and loving boy.

Originally Dominic Ericson, he found himself under the care of Steven and Iris after both of his parents were tragically killed in a car accident. The boy was only 5 years old. Furthermore, his parents had emigrated from Canada before he was born, leaving the rest of their family behind.

Dominic became attached to his foster parents very quickly and he made some great friends at his new school. He wanted to stay with Steven and Iris and worried about the day that he would have to leave all the awesome new people in his life behind. Fortunately for him, Dominic’s foster parents had become just as attached to the little boy as he had to them. After they asked Dominic if he would like to stay with them forever, the little boy very quickly told them that he would love nothing more in the world than to stay. A few weeks later, everything was in place and the papers were signed and Dominic Ericson became Dominic Theodore Berrycloth. Theodore was his birth father’s first name.

Dominic had to go through several years of therapy to get over the loss of his parents who who missed terribly. However, he came out of the other end an incredibly resilient and empathetic young boy.

Being the brother figure that he constantly played with other children who passed through the emergency foster care home that was the Berrycloth residence, it took the boy quite some time to adjust to not getting too close to them as it hurt the caring boy a lot when they had to move on. However, in time, Dominic learned how to be caring and attentive to the kids who passed through, offering them much needed love and support, without feeling heartbroken every time one left. Although, it still never became ‘easy’. Although, one day, a boy passed through that totally stole Dominic’s heart in a way he had never experienced before.

Mackie Berrycloth

Mackie is a 4 year old male Sheltie. He still has all his doggy boy bits as the family may want puppies in the future. A pack of little Mackies running around would be a lot of fun.

Steven and Iris got Mackie as a present to their adopted son on his 8th birthday.

Mackie is incredibly patient, affectionate, and intelligent, knowing a huge range of tricks that Dominic and Steven has taught him over the years.

Dominic loves his pooch very much and they have spent many-a-day running around the back garden playing fetch, doing tricks, and generally just goofing around with one another. Especially in the summer.

Mackie is a good boy.
